Elf idea: Flown home through the window
On the last morning the elf's spot is empty and one curtain is pulled back, as if it flew out in the night. It takes about 2 minutes and hardly any effort; you need nothing special.

How to do it
- Put the elf away somewhere safe for next year.
- Pull back the curtain or blind on one window, as if the elf flew out (leave the window shut).
- Leave the elf's usual spot completely empty.

Photograph the empty spot with the open curtain behind it. The gap is the point.
