Elf idea: Where's the elf?
The elf is properly hidden and has left one hint on the fridge; a grown-up has a second hint for anyone who's stuck. It takes about 3 minutes and hardly any effort; you need sticky notes, felt tips, crayons and a marker pen.

How to do it
- Hide the elf somewhere tricky but low and reachable: in a welly, behind the bread bin, in the toy box.
- Write hint one on a sticky note (or a printed clue card) and stick it on the fridge.
- Write a warmer second hint and keep it in your pocket for anyone who gets stuck.
- Still stuck? Play hotter and colder until they find it.
Photo tip
Shoot the hiding place from the kids' eye line so you remember where it was.
A morning line from your elf
I'm hiding. First hint's on the fridge. Second hint's in a grown-up's pocket. Third hint is: I'm warm.
